As part of its commercial strategy to deepen its retail presence as well as deliver telecoms services to the doorsteps of its consumers, leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, has commissioned a new retail outlet at the Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The new service centre, located on the first floor of the Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, Three Arms Zone, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, was opened recently with prominent Nigerians and top executives of the telecoms company in attendance.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Communications, Senator Prince Gilbert Nnaji, who was special guest of honour on the occasion, performed the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to declare the new showroom open.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Sales Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Godfrey Efeurhobo, noted that the telco was committed to its key objectives of connecting Nigerians to their dreams and empowering more telecoms consumers with access to bespoke and innovative telecoms products and services.
According to him, Airtel Nigeria is keenly interested in not just offering Nigerians the best connection but also expanding its service footprints to serve telecoms consumers better. “Without a doubt, today’s showroom commissioning bears eloquent testimony to our resolve and determination to exceptional customer service delivery and service excellence.
“With our aggressive retail expansion footprints and investment in customer service centres, it is therefore no gainsaying that our customer-centricity, which has consistently earned us the Best Customer Service Operator over the years is not a fluke but a reality we would never compromise on.
“Today, as we increase our footprints in Abuja, we bring with it our rich history and culture of great service experience to the delight of our customers, especially those within this community and the environs,” he added.
After taking a tour of the new Airtel office, Senator Nnaji applauded the company for its unwavering commitment towards expanding retail footprints across the country, thereby bringing telecoms services closer to the doorsteps of consumers.
Speaking further, he commended the telco for its support towards the underprivileged in the Nigerian society through its Airtel Touching Lives Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform.
Also in attendance at the occasion was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Distinguished Senator Professor, Ajayi Boroffice, amongst other high profile guests.
According to the telco, the newly opened office affords members of the National Assembly access to its innovative products and services. It is a one-stop office designed to offers premium services tailored to suit the lifestyle of high profile customers on the network.

Smile clinches Cussons Baby N1m grand prize
A four-year old Imisi Subomi Smile Oladapo from Chrisland School, Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos, emerged the inaugural winner of the 2015 Cussons Baby toddler competition, tagged: “Grow and Shine’’. It comes with the N1million education grant grand prize and products from the Cussons Baby range of products.
Ehiarekhian Peter Hayble, 4, a pianist and Amarachi Akujobi 5, a dancer, came second and third to win N250,000 and N150,000 education grant respectively.  Other 17 kids also went home with product gifts and N20, 000 and N10, 000 shopping voucher each.
Smile whose chorographic performance received standing ovation from judges, parents and other contestants smiled home with the competition’s educational grant of N1million at the competition grand finale held at Planet One, Maryland Lagos over the weekend.
The judges for the inaugural competitions were Jude Abaga popularly known as MI, Waje Iruobe and Chidinma Ekile, all musicians.
Addressing the transparency of the competition, PZ Cussons’ Regional Marketing Head of Africa, Charles Nnochiri stated that the judges were objective in their judgment and the event turned out the way we expected it to be.
“What this tells me is that the event was as transparent as we expected it to be. The judges were objective as they could have been because the winner is someone who sang a lot of songs that edified our country Nigeria through choreography. That on its own is a lot of talent from a 4- year old.”
Reinforcing the brand belief in its core audience, Cussons Baby Senior Brand Manager, Family Care, Oluwaseun Ayeni said the brand believes that all babies are uniquely gifted and that is the reason the Cussons Baby added to the earlier platform- Cussons Baby Moments Competition, to give toddlers between the ages of 2 to 5 years the opportunity to share their amazing talents.
We captioned this category as the Cussons Baby Moments Toddler Grow and Shine competition, she said.
The elated winner’s mother, Mrs. Ireti Oladapo, writer/publicist, who expressed her fears after seeing some talented kids on display prior to her baby’s performance confessed that at some point her faith began to shake.
“There were so many talented children at the competition and at a point my faith began to shake but I told her that if she has to win she has to do better than others,” Mrs Oladapo disclosed.
She however thanked Cussons Baby for believing in the Nigerian child and not only providing them with world class baby lotion, soaps, oil and powder but also giving them the opportunity to express themselves through dancing, singing, choreographing and other talents.
